Carver Elementary Mural 2010

For part of my internship through MCAD I worked with Melodee Strong on a mural project at Carver Elementary in Saint Paul, MN. We worked with the three 5th grade classes of 2010 to put together a concept starting at the research and sketch phase to create the mural all about Diversity and Cultural differences-also since the piece was going to be hanging in the hallway right as you enter the school it had to feel open and welcoming. We completed the mural in 2.5 weeks working every afternoon with the kids-each for about 10 min each (all together we had 65 kids). The following pictures are the result of this mural.
